Origen Bar
During my 7th semester at ITESO University, I embarked on a transformative project to design a restaurant bar in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where the essence of Mexican cuisine meets contemporary architectural design. This project involved meticulous research into materials, human behavior, and experiential design.
A key element of the design was the incorporation of a centrifugal tree, prominently positioned in front of the kitchen—the symbolic heart of the space. This architectural feature serves as a metaphor for life and purpose, symbolizing vitality and origin while enhancing the visual and spatial experience.
The design also thoughtfully integrates open spaces that allow natural light to flood the interior, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor environments. This deliberate incorporation of natural light and open space creates a seamless indoor-outdoor experience, which positively influences human behavior by promoting a sense of well-being and connection with the natural world.
The project illustrates how architecture can merge traditional Mexican elements with modern design principles, offering an immersive and enriching environment. It invites patrons to engage in a sensory journey through culture, purpose, and the harmonious blend of light and space, ultimately fostering a more profound and positive dining experience.
